The
word, “dyslexia” comes from the Greek meaning, “difficulty with words.”
It is
not, as wrongly thought, related to a person’s intelligence or
background, but proven to be a different way in which the brain processes
language.

Dyslexia can have a huge impact
upon children’s education and potential with no two individuals being alike. It can impact on their reading, spelling,
writing, organisational skills and short term memory. These problems often
result in anxiety, low self esteem, less confidence and a lack of enthusiasm
for school.
